Carl Banner - Montessori Guide
Carl is now in his 5th year as the elementary teacher at SCMS. Prior to his work here, he taught middle school for one year and he taught high school for three years in rural North Carolina with the Teach For America program. After a year of selling antiques and records, he went on to earn his AMI diploma from the Washington Montessori Institute in Baltimore and a Master's degree from Loyola College in Baltimore. In his spare time, Carl enjoys spending time with his wife and son, Isaac, as well as reading, going for walks, and collecting records.
Kate Conners - Elementary Assistant Kate is new to the Elementary classroom this year. She recieved her B.A. in English and her M.A. in Education both from Saint Catherine University. She also holds an Elementary teaching license in Minnesota. After spending time in the traditional school system she has decided that Montessori is a better fit for her and hopes to be AMI trained in the next few years. Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, Grace and Emerson, as well as reading, photography and has a new-found love of sewing. |
